My Art Creating Ritual

Every artists has a few things they do to get ready to start creating. Basically it's start the mood to put brush to paper and get focused.
When I'm getting ready to paint besides sketching and looking for references I need several things to get myself in the zone. First is tea. I love lattes but my espresso machine is loud and lattes at night, my working hours, is not the best. I'll make earl grey with almond milk, chai, or jasmine tea. Then after I have a nice hot cup of tea ready for me and away from my brushes so I don't dip them in my tea I light a candle. Smells are important to me especially good smells. My favorites are anything vanilla, berry, pumpkin, or incensy smelling. Lastly I put on pandora and pick a good station that goes with my painting. The usual station I chose is Alt-J or Lindsey Sterling.
In the end I need a warm drink, a good smell, and soothing music.
